It has been a bit quiet at Number Five Interiors; I lost my confidence and lost my way a little bit. I am really excited to get back blogging and share what's been happening at Number Five, in the world of interiors and anything else too!
Lots as been happening behind the scenes at Number Five Interiors, we are nearly there with the kitchen just a few things to do, are nearly there with the dining space and I am picking the finishing touches for the snug too. Instead of talking through, I thought I would share some snaps and some of that copper worktop that you all love!
The copper worktop is looking incredible after a couple of months use. In the first few weeks we were overly cautious to use the surface, however now we use it all the time and the patina on the surface is just looking wonderful now. It doesn't look as shiny, shiny new, but looks real, looks raw which is a great juxtaposition against the neatness of the tiles and the faux marble on the other side of the kitchen. I love the transformation it has gone through over the last couple of months and can not wait to see how it changes even more.
I eventually managed to find some gorgeous bar stools from Cult Furniture to go alongside the island. I hunted high and low for a bar stool with a back that would fit into the kitchen design but luckily I found the dream pair and really pleased that they work so well in the space.
We have been filling those blanks walls which always come with renovations. I love this look at the back of the kitchen; the Osborne and Little metallic wallpaper, the Rifle Paper calendar, Paperchase postcards framed and a hanging planter. This alongside the most amazing Home Sense finds; the cane trolley. Just the right amount of kitsch over here!
We are so nearly there with completing the dining area space! I adore the West Elm dining table we purchased paired with painted vintage Ercol chairs... It's like I have the best of both mid-century worlds in one spot!
I've had fun accessorising this area of the room... but still a bit more to do!
I've created a green gang in the corner of the room. The one thing about renovating is the amount of blank spaces and blank walls you are left with when things are done. I am super excited to fill those spaces, but I've learnt from past mistakes and I'm not going to purchase something to fit just for the sake of it. I'm going to wait 'til the perfect piece comes along, but in the mean time, the plant gang are a great filler!
I turned thirty. I'm officially a decade older. But when you are older, you become slightly wiser and I am ready to chase those dreams now.
Finally, Number Five Interiors the site has it's self had a make over. I adore taking photos of my house, and enjoying learning about photography more and wanted to make sure that my new and updated site shared with my readers this new found passion. I'm in the process of consolidating old content into better posts which i hope will be more useful to everyone. You can also now subscribe so you never miss a post from Number Five.
I hope you like the new look at Number Five Interiors and I am eager and excited to create some fantastic content for you all, and most importantly share with you a few more room makeovers and even more interior finds! I hope you continue to enjoy your stay at Number Five.
