As I type this there is a definite feel of autumn in the air, it's cooled down after a gloriously sunny bank holiday weekend, the night is starting to draw in and the TV has started getting good again; Bake Off last night and a new series of Doctor Foster coming soon! With a change in season it always makes me rethink my decor, and want to add a few new key pieces to keep my home looking wonderful and fresh. This Autumn I have my eye on oversized glass vases; beautiful filled with flowers and foliage or gorgeous objects and design features in their own right. Here are some of my favourites I have found on the High Street.
I recently purchased this beautiful vase for my sister in law as a home warming gift when they moved into their new home. I was hugely tempted to keep it for Number Five as I can confirm that is absolutely stunning. The pink isn't too pink (and looked amazing on my copper island) the bubbled effect is gorgeous and adds a little something special and it looks glorious with foliage or flowers in!
I recently got the A/W Cox and Cox book through the letterbox which made me firstly, swoon over everything and secondly, want to revamp my whole house with Cox and Cox products. Alas, the bank account doesn't stretch to that, however there are a few key pieces I absolutely adore and this oversized vase was one of them! Doesn't it look beautiful with that simple sprig of Eucalyptus.
I love smoked glass; it reminds me of cups of tea round my Nan's house where we would be allowed a cuppa in the smoked glass mug; how grown up? And my mum's dining room glass table which came with burnt orange velvet chairs, such a shame she threw it away! So seems the love of smoked glass is in the genes, and this is my take on it!
I love the simplicity of the smoked glass, the styling with dried flower buds and how stunning this looks against that muted pallet.
You know its a trend worth getting on board with when H&M Home have included it in their new A/W collection. It is currently sold out online (i know that's rubbish!) but I've seen this in store and it has come back in stock online a few times over this week, so do keep an eye out. It is at H&M Home prices so is an absolute steal so easy to add in this trend into your home relatively cheaply but without loosing the look!
