I love the start of September with autumn on the cusp when everything seems possible! Autumn is my favourite of all the seasons, I love the change in the days, TV gets good again and all those lovely vegetables to roast! Apart from all those exciting things to look forward this is what is going to keep me busy this month.
Getting Number Five magazine ready
I was lucky enough to be approached by an Editor of a home magazine who asked if they could shoot my home. I went back to them with a huge yes... in a cool, casual way! The shoot is in October in readiness for a spring edition. There are still a few things that need completing before Number Five is shoot ready. A lot of the jobs that need doing are those pesky little finishing off jobs that everyone puts off and are left uncompleted for ever, however with a camera poking around we had better get those jobs done! There is still a spare bedroom revamp (which I will be sharing more on soon!) and a hallway to add those finishing touches too. Can not wait to share more with you all.
Getting blog organised
I love my new blog look, love all the wonderful bloggers I've been able to connect with, love all the lovely comments I have had from lots of wonderful followers and absolutely love using my camera and taking snaps of Number Five. I need to keep it up now. Juggling a blog, a full on full time job can mean things get a little stressful sometimes but that's because I am so disorganised! This month I've planned out my content, planned the snaps I need to take and have my blogging playlist ready to get some stuff done! I am taking inspiration from Fiona Humberstone and her incredible brand inspiration books and making sure my blog set up on the dining room table is more inviting than the sofa. I've moved my favourite autumn candle, Jo Malone Incense and Embers into the dining space and I have enough Clipper tea on the Ocado order to ensure that this home will never be without a cuppa for at least seven months (!) although there will be no blogging on a Tuesday... I have GBBO and Doctor Foster to look forward to!
Adding a touch of autumn to Number Five
I love adding new colour pallets into the home. Over the summer I adored blue hydrangeas against the copper work top, now I am absolutely obsessed with these autumnal toned dahlias in the kitchen! Don't they just look incredible! I'm not quite ready to bring out all the sheepskins, woollen textures and fluffy cushions, I will wait until next month for that, so for now these beautiful flowers will do just fine for bringing a touch of autumn into the home.
I would love to hear your September goals and plans... Comment below with what yours are.
