As my better half works away, when Matthew is home we always like to make the most of his time here and always try and do something lovely together. This time I treated us to a stay in London The Hoxton, Holborn but believe it or not when we booked this the hotel was actually cheaper than your 'budget friendly' hotel chains and because I've always wanted to stay at a Hoxton as I've heard nothing but wonderful things I just had to press reserve! The Hoxton have two hotels in London located in Holborn and Shoreditch alongside hotels in Amsterdam and Paris. The Hoxton will be venturing stateside too soon with hotels being created in Williamsburg, Chicago and LA. Onto the interiors, we picked a lovely Cosy room which was plenty big enough for two for a night's stay; you can also choose to have a Shoebox stay, which is small and compact room perfect for one, a Snug room slightly bigger than the Shoebox but room for two or you can go full out with a Roomy! In this hotel they really do make the most of the quirks the room and building has, our walls were on an angle so they squeezed the bed onto the main wall and built the bedside tables around the space, such a great way to celebrate the building.
The room was beautifully decorated, fantastic wallpaper on the walls, great bathroom with lovely products and most importantly the bed was so comfortable, the sheets were of the best quality and it was a great base for us to do some exploring of Central London. We loved our stay here so much so we are looking to stay at the Shoreditch Hoxton so we can explore a little more of East London!
So the bit you are all waiting for the photos...
Beautiful calming colours on the walls and what an incredible headboard
I had a lot of love for this cushion!
I love the gallery wall created on the fabulous wallpaper wall. The illustrations on the wallpaper were so fun that I just had to get a close up!
Lovely stationary hidden away... what a treat to see such organisation! The Hoxton Guide was great for tips and tricks of what to see and where to eat around Holborn.
Loveliest of details...
Great bathroom, as you all know I have so much love for black and white with the loveliest of products from Pen & Ink - the branding was just so cool against the black and white suite.
Lovely home comforts provided by The Hoxton, so much so I brought a mug home with me, don't worry I paid for it! Their room service prices were also incredibly reasonable, instead of charging customers say1000% more for a product they charge the same as the supermarkets, fantastic idea to keep business within the hotel... take note other hotels!
I didn't even need to use my tea bags I brought with me as they provided the best tea!
All in all a wonderful night's stay in London and a great place to explore central London from. Do you guys have any other beautifully decorated but reasonable hotel recommendations I should stay at?
